Long question on XP.
I have a 600E with fleas.
First off, sys restore is off. But there are a lot of files like MSM....
that when you delete them, they come back. Why? and how can I get rid of
them?
PCMCIA HDD not seen. In XP set up, it sees it and gives me the option to
install to it. I did. Bios is set to boot to PCMCIA first. during set up
when it reboots it starts all over. it will not boot from the pc card
HDD. So far no matter what I do it is not there. BUT, I DID use it
before. Whats up with this?
I keep getting warnings about using unencrypted web pages. there is a
box to check to not receive this again. no mater how many times I check
to NOT receive it again, I still get them. There are a lot of warnings
like this.
Deferent apps try to "Broadcast" to the net. What is this? what does it
do? what good is it? When I stop it, things keep working.
Apps layer gateway service trying to contact to ........
What is it and why? Also keeps working when I stop it.
Partition magic 8. When I copied my partition from my back up to my new
drive, it crashes at the end. On reboot the copy went as planed, it just
crashed before it was done.Why?
Also, the copy was of my boot partition. the copy was added as a
deferent partition after the partition. The new drive was set up as D:.
the copy was added as drive e: after d:. it was set up as a active
primary partition NOT as a logical drive. After moving e: to d: as a
folder IN d:, then moved the content from the folder to the root of D:,
everything is there but it is not bookable.
How can you copy a bootable drive AND make the copy bootable? And then
when you copy it back to the boot disk AND have it bootable?
I never had these problems with 2 tin cans with string.
Ron
