Hiya Wilfried,
Annecdotal evidence would suggest
- Yes, the Tp 600 can support 20gb, you may need an overlay but I doubt
it (not ever owned a 600 series)
I make the latter assumption on the basis I own a ThinkPad 560Z which is
pretty much the TP 600's era (maybe about 6 months newer) and I am aware
that itself does support a larger hard disk. (I currently have a 3.2GB
one in there with Win 2000 Server, don't need a great deal of space, its
a server).
Secondly, the 560Z had a BIOS dated early 1999 before Win 2k/XP's final
release, as such it would randomly freeze and require a hard reset, it
did this until I updated the BIOS, since then, no freezing issues have
been found.
I'd upgrade the BIOS as a priority then retry installing Windows 2000.
I know it can be fickle sometimes on booting such as NTLDR errors and so
forth.
