Do run the hard drive firmware updater. One problem the release note said
was fixed was a lubrication "migration" issue.
The head motion algorithm pushed grease out of the bearing, leaving it too
dry to operate well. I imagine it would eventually lead to a head actuator
sticking, then seizing.
