I really _don't_ want to start another pis*ing contest about this matter again,
but the above hardly meets the definition of booting from a CD.

What you describe is booting from the HD with CD support and can be done with
any W98 boot floppy, no esoteric boot managers are necessary.

The 760 series Thinkpads _cannot_ boot from a CD, period!
