My 560x keeps running when the power goes out completely.
This is probably because the extended dock (#11J8998 FRU 11J9000) only
has a couple of PC card slots so it doesn't take a lot of power to
drive. Does the A30 dock have any internal drives?
I just tried my external PCMCIA hard drive (Travelstar 8E).
Unplugging the power with the drive plugged into the computer has no
effect. Unplugging the power with the drive plugged into the dock stops
the drive and freezes the computer requiring a reboot.
So I guess I can skip the UPS as long as I plug the hard drive into the
computer (not the dock).
