just to be 100% sure: it doesn't matter if i'm on DC or not, the fan
will only start to make noise if the machine is under heavy load? that
would be really great...

hmmm... yes that's right. The standard battery is bit underpowered.
The extended battery is bigger and will not fit in the machine (looks
like it will extend it for about 1 inch / 2,5 cm)

it's not bad isn't it? Either i will use that device for years or i
will sell it together as one

the problem with external drives is the space on the table and the
extra cables... and of course the power-supply (i think many drives
won't run without extra power-supply just on the USB-Port?). The X40
has an extra-powered USB 2.0 Port, the X31 has not.
