[Thinkpad] TP41p: 802.11g vs. 11a?

I'm having interference trouble with my 11b router and 2.4GHz phone
(and my 11g is the MS unit which has a lot of trouble, apart from
interference with the phone it drops the connection (among other
things) so it's disconnected). Since my notebook does a/b/g I was
wondering about going with 11a.

Presumably its 5GHz won't interfere with my 2.4GHz cordless phone,
nor my 900MHz cordless phone. What if I go with a 5.8GHz phone, is
there overlap and interference there? I really need two lines and
can't find anyone who offers that yet in a 5.8GHz but assume it
will come eventually.

Any opinions on one over the other, both in the context of my T41p
and in general?
