You have to believe. The 560x is very particular about memory (I had a
64Mb stick that didn't work and a 128 Mb stick that was recognized but
kept crashing.
Apparently going to 160 requires some sort of OS tweak for Win98.
I put the big stick into my Win2K 560x and it works fine.
The stick that ended up working was a Dell part:
It had 8 chips each marked:

The stick also has a white sticker marked:
