Mine is quiet, but you can get a noisy drive in any brand, that still
works and still meets warranty requirements... Only certain noisy drives
have a higher risk of failure... 15 percent will be super quiet, 15
percent will be super noisy... But in my experience, both the Samsung
and Travelstar will be too quiet to hear.
