[Thinkpad] IBM Service Lands Short on Error 1722 During Rescue/Ultra Rapid Restore Install (Redux)

Long story short, IBM Thinkpad Service gave up (hope problem magically
solved itself, hoped requester would lose interest and go away, etc.).
Won't respond to emails. Two machines now affected.

After extensive prompting on my part (thanks to list members'
suggestions), six weeks ago, IBM offered the MIGR-55127 and
ZYAZ00USA.exe processes, from which I get the following as output, which
points to the source of the error. They have for six weeks refused to
return calls or emails.

Remarkably, the output (screen scapings below) is near identical on both
machines, one an X23 2662-EBU running WinXP Pro SP1, the other an X22
2662-9NU running Win2K, SP4...

RWM wrote on 6/12/2004:

"After un-installing Rapid Restore 3, and while installing Rescue with
Ultra Rapid Restore (aka RR4), I am getting a consistent "Error 1722"
after what
appears to be a DOS call to check partition size, near the midpoint of
the Installshield process."

ANy suggestions as to how to escalate this in the IBM TP Service hierarchy?
