Just to recap, the 1722 error is thrown when the exe is unable to find
enough (8) empty sectors on the boot record. It finds only 6, and
throws the error.

A few boot records hold relevant remarks, but most are filled with
gibberish. The IBM boot clean diagnostic indicates "Using an old
version of IBM Preloaded boot manager".

There are two instances of bmgr.exe:

In "C:\Program Files\Xpoint\PE\diag\bmgr.exe", there is a 24,885 byte
version, dated 9/14/2001, that looks like the preload, and is in the RR3
directory.

In "C:\IBMTOOLS\BMGR.EXE", there is a 22,679 byte version, dated
1/6/2004, that relates to the IBM boot clean utilities.

There are three unique instances of bmgr32.exe, one dated 3/24/2004
with the MBR_CLEAN utility, and two dated 7/9/1980 with the Xpoint (RR3)
and RRU301B directories.

The real issue is figuring out how to wipe clean at least two of the
munged boot sectors. That's what MBR_CLEAN is supposed to do, but doesn't.
