I thought I'd share the following with everybody:
Target is selling a "mini-usb optical wheel mouse" (model HO98094)
manufactured by "GE" for $10. It normally goes for $15. I plugged it
into the back of my T30 (thanks again, Bruce) and within 30 seconds
Windows XP Pro had recognized it, prepared for it and had it working.
Both buttons work. The wheel works. The built-in UltraNav still works
at the same time. This solution (for those who want a real mouse
for some of the things they do) is completely painless and CHEAP
and apparently 100% compatible with my Thinkpad.
BTW... On other really nice feature of this mouse is that the cord
between the USB plug and the mouse is in a retractable spool device.
If I have it wind up all the cord, there is only 2" or so of cord and connector
between the mouse and the end of the USB plug.
