I just bought a new (to me) A31 and love it. It came with XP Pro in the
recovery partition, and I would like to run the recovery to start from a
known place.
I wonder if y'all would offer some opinions on the best way to go about
doing a recovery (or direct me to some instructions on the IBM web site).
There are a gazillion updates on the IBM and Windows web sites to be
installed. I hope to be able to obtain the Service Pack 2 (SP2) release
from Microsoft to ease the burden there.
I did update the BIOS to the current 1.05 version already. My tentative
plan is:
1. Wipe out the C: drive and run the recovery from the hidden
partition.
2. Download the latest Update Connector and use that to get the IBM
driver updates. (Does this work?)
3. Install the SP2 update.
Let me know if you think this is the right thing to do and if this is
the right order to do them in.
