I wouldn't bother the seller either; I'd just call Easy-Serv, say you've got several
problems with the USB ports. When they send the box to you, make sure to mention every
little thing that isn't perfect; they'll probably replace all those pieces.

Before you call, get the serial number off the bottom and check your actual warranty
expiration date from
http://www-3.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/warranty/warranty.vm.
