[Thinkpad] wireless acting up in XP

Hi all,

Looking for some advice on the built-in Actiontec 802.11b card on my T23.
Works great 99% of the time, but once in a while the connection will drop.
XP claims to be able to see the access point, but in IBM/Actiontec's WLAN
utlility the status says "Unable to communicate with device drivers" and the
signal strength and link quality are at 0. No combination of
rebooting/enabling/disabling the card gets the wireless working again. I
have to do a full shutdown and cold boot. Had a hard drive failure over the
weekend and this is a fresh restore CD image, so I don't think it's the OS
or drivers. Doesn't matter if the connection is idle or if I'm in the middle
of transferring something, it dies either way.

Has anyone else seen this problem before?
Is this a software issue or is it a sign of impending hardware failure (it's
been dropping more often in the last week or so).

Thanks.

- Jeddy
