[Thinkpad] T41 - Dualscreen Dropouts

Hi, i'm using a T41p with two monitors: the Thinkpad's internal screen in
combination with an external TFT connected via DVI of the Thinkpad MiniDock.
Unfortunately I'm encountering dropouts (TFT screen gets black for a second)
on a regular basis. Those dropouts happen on a regular basis whereas they
tend to appear more often whenever I get the Thinkpad back to work after the
screensaver was running. Any ideas what needs to be changed in monitor
settings? (The TFT is set as primary monitor and runs 1280x1024; the
thinkpad screen runs 1400x1050, graphics card is a ATI Fire GL T2.)

Another "cosmetic" think. I do use a wallpaper which is stretched to fit the
screen. Whenever I have the dualscreen setup (while docked), the wallpaper
fits on the external TFT whereas it shows some black borders on the "bigger"
thinkpad screen. This is not the case when I use the thinkpad standalone.
Then the wallpaper is correctly stretched. Any ideas? Any way to even use
different wallpapers on both screens?

TIA

Martin
