[Thinkpad] Dropped connections

I'm having trouble with the stability of my wireless connections on XP with
the mini-pci 802.11b that came in my T30. I remember that there were
discussions on the list about these problems and I remember that people
solved them, but I can't find the mails and I can't recall the solution.

Just in case I am remembering a non-existent thread, let me give the full
background. I boot the machine 99% of the time on Linux and the wireless
card works perfectly there. But I'm going on a trip with the family and we
can't play my son's games on Linux and the hotel has high-speed wireless
internet access. So, I booted back over to the XP side (this is basically
the preloaded version of XP - I believe it is SP1, but I could be wrong).
The machine always boots fine and I see the little icon in the taskbar and
the little hint that pops up and tells me that signal strength is excellent.
Then, within a couple of minutes, the hint pops back up and tells me that
there is no signal. Within a little while, it tells me that "it's back and
its badder than ever" (okay, it doesn't really say that, it just says
"Excellent" again).

I tried playing around with Access Connections (because I thought I remembered
that from the thread), but that didn't seem relevant.

Any thoughts?
