Deanna and Matt,

We are sending the print jobs to right port "USB001 (virtual printer
port for USB" and there are no external USB hubs in play. We can scan
from the device just fine. Although I don't have the laptop in front
of me right now, I do know that there were no yellog exclamation marks
in the Device Manager.

We can get pictures off a camera hooked up to the USB port just fine (no
hub either). The printer test page prints partially and then the
software complains of a "cartridge stall". If I was to guess, there is
some sort of moderate-speed two way communication going on between the
printer and the software (XP and the printer drivers). A cursory
overview looks like somebody is dropping bits along the way...
