You are not entitled to the WXP recovery CD. However, if it were my
machine, I'd still try to get a copy of one and use it. I rather like the
one IBM preload I've experienced (Win98SE on my 600X) and would try it
again for XP. (OK, there was one other preload, but as it was Win3.1 on a
750P, I don't feel it really counts any more.)
Then again, I'm sure you're aware how easily Windows installs on a
ThinkPad with the standard release. It's just a bit of work to get the
drivers and configuration set. (He said the day after installing W98SE on
a 600E with a bare drive.)
