Then they usually have some PC card NICs and CAT5 cables lying in a drawer for

But I have to admit that a little sniffing while sitting on a hotel balcony has
rarely failed to result in finding an unsecured WAP from a neighboring building.
A few minutes checking some of the public WiFi indices such as:
http://www.freenetworks.org/ and http://www.nodedb.com/unitedstates/ny/newyork/?
will almost always result in finding local access.
I even have a directory of WAPs accessible from the boat all up and down the
Atlantic ICW and most of the Gulf ICW.
