Greetings List,
I recently had some telephone line problems both on my side and the telco's
side. The problem naturally was severe line noise which would cause connection
drops, no dial tones etc etc... The usual.
Now that these line problems have been repaired, I find that the internal Agere
modem of my A30p no longer connects at the speed it was (mid to upper 40's).
It's now connecting low 30's mid-upper 20's.
Using my 3com card modem, speeds are back to what they were before the line
trouble.
Could this mean the internal modem has suffered damage? There's still warranty
left on this box, might the modem be covered? If so, would I have to send it to
EZ Serv? I'd rather buy a new modem on eBay as to have to deal with EZ serv
again even if covered by warranty.
Thanks in advance,
Dave
