Re: [Thinkpad] Word Viewer

I popped into the library yesterday and what should be in John
Dvorak's column in PC Magazine but a full-page diatribe against
Microsoft Word. He suggests euthanizing the program. And gives
several examples that even non-users of Word have encountered.

Here's one more: Word will choke on a lot of simple and perfectly valid .RTF files, refusing to open them. The same files open fine in Word Pad.

So if your Thinkpad is using an older version of Word, there is
another route to try if a file does not open when you're on the
road (trying desperately to make this thread on topic).
