My X30 runs very warm, though how warm depends on which power mode I am
in (ie, on the CPU load). The fan only kicks in when my machine
gets pretty hot. Note: if you have the machine in your lap, and you are
wearing shorts, and the fan comes on, ice will help with the ensuing
blister on your right knee.

It doesn't show up in PCD for Windows on my X30, but I haven't tried PCD
for DOS.
