[Thinkpad] Magi DVD to go card, accelerates ALL video files?

I am curious, since a magi card seems to be relatively cheap ($35
canadian shipped on ebay), I was wondering, would it JUST work for
DVD's , or will it help accelerate all video files, such as divx,
xvid, etc. I've got a thinkpad 560x (233 mhz mmx proc) and am JUST on
the threshold of being able to play divx files full screen without
MUCH stuttering, thanks to a dos divx player called quickview... but
if this can do it better and in a window (and not having to go into
dos), i'd be glad
