Yeah, I used to travel on business all the time (as in 3-4 weeks every
month), and Amex always came down on my side in any dispute.

I thought this quote from someone on alt.sysadmin.recovery describes
Amex really well:

"Never had a spam from them. On the other hand they're the only
credit card company that _leans_ on hotels. Book with an Amex card
and if the hotel tries to move you to another hotel "very close!",
call Amex. Problem solved. I've sort of always seen them as kindred
spirits. They are indeed proper, evil bastards."
