When I lived in Alaska we referred to them as the "lesser 48". If you cut
Alaska in half Texas would be the third largest state, but size wasn't the
main issue. Having spent time in both Alaska and Hawaii, I know I now live
in the lesser 48. Wouldn't you agree, David?
