And now back to ThinkPads.

Has anyone else see the problem of the Intel SpeedStep applet on a 600x
running Win2k mysteriously changing from fully checkered (meaning Maximum
Performance) to checkered with a white hole (meaning Battery Optimised)
while the computer continued to operate on AC with no power interruption?
And if so, what is the solution. I can't even tell whether the CPU is
really changing speed, I just notice that the icon changes.
