I would assume that if they had a working refurbished screen in stock,
they would have used this anyway; on warrantee repairs they *always*
have the option of using refurb stock.

Escalation beyond the basic warrantee track (eg, to executive customer
service)
will sometimes have this result, though the ideal result is to get this T23
working.
I don't sense that TK is really seeking anything more.

IBM certainly has the responsibility to provide TK with a functioning
machine at least as good as the one purchased, and that they have the
responsibility
to do so well before February. This is what warrantees are for, and one
reason we
spend extra for ThinkPads. Escalation is the correct step. TK should be
ready to
go beyond EZ serve, as I don't think that the repair division has the
authority to
provide replacement machines, and have been known to swear up and down that
it was
impossible.

All I can think of is replacing the whole laptop. And I assume this would
be replacing it with another T23, but perhaps that isn't an option for them.
