I read at area450.com that Sampo has downgraded its profit
predictions because of the increased cost for LCD screens
for its TVs.
That isn't exactly IBM, but some of us have been sitting around
waiting for LCD screens (in monitors) to come down in price,
but if that's happened it has happened very slowly. Something
suspicious is going. Could it be that those factories capable
of turning out LCD screens are eschewing low-margin items for
... what? So they're constantly re-tooling rather than producing
yesterday's innovations competitively?
Cartel, anybody?
