Phew, not so out the loop then ;)

It is a 7200rpm drive that one, and indeed 8meg of drive cache, and also it
is 60gb, a lot of the R50p, T42p units seem to come with these and also
probably the T41p.
The 48gig 5400rpm (one of the older 12.5mm/ 1/2" (in real measurements - I
must be the only 21 year old English girl who works in imperial almost
exclusively ;)) jobbies from a few years back when IBM made the Dea...
Travelstars. It died on me one day, dead. Thank god some of my backup was
on CD, mainly my files, but not the install, as that was on the recovery
partition, not very useful when the drive keels over dead completely. I
knew I should have taken heed with the ntfs.dll stop errors in XP... Anyway
IBM with it being under warranty said to send the old one back and they will
replace it, and being as the 48gig is no longer available/made, I will
receive the same speed one, but 60gigs.
Can hardly complain about that!
Also I rather recommend a particular Samsung hard disk, very very very quiet
and reliable. They went by a certain name, probably something -glide or
equally as corny.
That said, after the problems with a 20mb 2.5" Seagate drive over some 10
years ago, never again will I have one of their hard disks...
