[Thinkpad] Norton Ghost 9

Acronis True Image did a very fast job of cloning of my R50/XP disk to a new (faster, 7200RPM) Hitachi disk sitting in the SlimBay, and the result was bootable with no problem whatever (ie, pop original out, pop clone in, identical bootup and running).

The only wrinkle I noticed is that the IBM Predesktop area (the set of utilities that pops up when you press AccessIBM during boot) wasn't copied. This is on a hidden partition that nothing else seems to be able to see. (Anyone know of a way to get this copied to a new disk?) Other than that this seems to be a fast, easy way to clone (my preferred periodic backup strategy).

On my previous machine (A20p/W98) I used Drive Image 4.0 successfully, but it was considerably slower (perhaps because it wrote and verified, not obvious that True Image is verifying after writing), and it won't handle NTFS.

Interesting you ask this, as I finally got around to trying to use the
Ghost 9'ed clone, made from an X22.

The clone boots (Win2K, sp4) OK, up to the "Windows Logon" (and music),
starts "Applying personal settings", after which it throws a "Limited
Virtual Memory" error from which there is no available recovery and that
places it into a "Saving settings" -> "Windows Logon" (or Shutdown) loop.

I've obviously done something wrong, but I can't figure what that might
be. So far, it isn't a critical issue.
