No, I thought he said that he waited and waited and then turned it off.
The battery charge, in my opinion, has nothing to dowith it. They require that so a power outage at the wrong moment won't ruin the board.

The system DID shut down after the update was applied, according the
  original post.

I don't know how it worked if the battery wasn't fully charged, though.

You must refrain from turning off the machine before it is finished. I think
you have ruined the system board.
The good news is that boards are easy to find, screens are hard
You can buy a REALLY CHEAP lower for a 570 P2 366 (in fact I think I could
sell you one for like $25.00) and just transfer your screen over.
Or buy a 570E with a smashed screen and swap the screens.
Next time READ the directions, it tells you quite clearly to wait!

    Problems, problems…

I tried to update my BIOS on my 570E 2644-6AG, now the machine won’t start
att all. I closed all applications and run the update file on Win 2k. The
machine rebooted and went into the mode where it updates the BIOS, I
  pressed
yes, yes, yes. It seemed like the update went fine. The machine shut it self
    down, I waited…and waited…and waited…..like 3 minutes. Nothing happened.
  I
restarted the machine with the power on button. I wont boot at all.

My battery is almost dead, it lasts like 10 minutes, does this matter when
  I
had the powercable plugged in all the time?

When I turn on the machine the screen is black, it wont even blink, the
  HDD
spins up, the little leds under the screen blinks up and the whan to left
remains on, the machine beeps 3 times…That’s it!

Is there ANYTHING you can do yourself….? I’ve tried removing the battery,
    the CMOS battery. Nothing helps.
