A colleague has a problem with an R40 (under XP), it seems that every
time the cursor passes over an icon it launches the program or file the
icon represents. I asked him to see if it had the same behavior in the
BIOS or running PC-Doctor from a floppy, the answer seems to be yes
(we're doing this by email, and communication isn't always perfectly
clear). From this I infer that there is a hardware problem of some
sort - a stuck button perhaps, though I would have expected that to
result in some kind of Windows boot error. I suggested he try blowing
some compressed air through the keyboard in case the problem is an
errant crumb or insect.
Any other ideas? His machine is still under warrantee, but he is in
Africa right now so I don't know how accessible service is.
