This is the first thing I thought of, but I couldn't reproduce the
described behavior using TweakUI. The problem isn't only that it
activates the window in which the icon lives, and brings it to the front
of the other windows, it *also* opens the program or file or whatever,
without clicking. This is way beyond acceptable X-mouse behavior.
Plus, X-mouse is a Windows thing, the behavior also evidently takes
place in the BIOS/TP-Setup screen level.
I thought maybe it might be some kind of virus, but the closest I could
find to this behavior in in virus definitions was one where the icons
run away from the cursor. Besides, most virii are OS-specific.
Anyway, I should hear back on my lame "clean the keyboard" advice
whenever it becomes daytime in Swaziland.
