Some of you may recall my saga with having my T23's failing screen replaced 4 months ago. (Search list archives for "EZ Serv:New screen backordered".)
(Summary: After stalling with my machine for a few days, they told me that I'd either have to accept a lower resolution screen, or wait 5 months due to backordered parts. After the second time I refused this offer, the person who had just repeated the offer admitted that he thought they had a shipment of new screens in, and went ahead and had my machine repaired correctly. To get through to these people, I had to escalate to corporate support. Total time without machine: 11 days.)
The replaced screen was adequate, but clearly not in new condition (the surface had scratches from improper cleaning, and the backlighting was very uneven).
The update is that the screen is starting to fail already; in particular, there are horizontal bands appearing on the entire screen more and more frequently.
So, I shall have to embark on this process anew.
