Can someone kindly advise me on how to fix my Thinkpad T22.

Here is the problem I encounter with it. I have problem powering up my
Thinkpad T22. It powers up intermittently. When I try to power on the
computer (by pressing the power button), the battery led which is green and
on (battery fully charged), lights off subrepticely while the hard drive
green led - which was off - flickers shortly then goes off again. This
happens in the span of a second. Then the battery led turns on again
(green). Nothing else happens even if I press for 10 seconds the power
button.

The strange thing is that it doesn't happen consistently. Sometimes the
notebook powers on normally, especially if I unplug the AC plug for a while,
then power on the computer within seconds of plugging the AC plug back.

I have read on a forum that this problem could be caused by the CMOS/RTC
backup battery beneath the main battery pack (see
http://help.lockergnome.com/lofiversion/index.php/t38049.html ).

Have you encountered such a problem before with your Thinkpad? Do you think
that the CMOS/RTC backup battery is the source of the problem, or do you
think it is something else?

Thank you very much in advance for any help/suggestion!

Michael
