12 gb.

A new drive would not solve the problem, which is too many Windows-
related files on drive C. I have two other OS on this machine (altogether
on 8 partitions) and these OSs all have to start below the 1024th cylinder.
I have to keep removing the Windows crud.

I have learned that even a lean Windows install eventually becomes
unusable due to the inherent proliferation of *.log, *.dat and other
files. All kinds of files keep growing without any advice to the user
and little or no documentation and no cleanup mechanism. It is a
constant struggle. I have discovered a lot of them and find more every week.

The term of art for this mal-design is "Windows rot", causing most users
to have to reinstall the OS periodically. I had heard the term bandied about
and now I know exactly what causes it.

Thanks for the idea, which would work for Windows-only users, but
not for me.
