richard,

No information, but cynical speculation. If they told customers those
were in fact HDs but that they were cancelling orders, people would
continue ordering just in case public pressure should cause them to ship
the HDs (or one per order, irrespective of order size). Worst case, the
order is cancelled.

By telling customers they're trays and they're getting trays, their hope
is that customers will just not order, and might even cancel orders
already accepted.

My bet is they'll cancel all orders and email customers to say that if
they really did want the tray assembly, to please re-order. No way do
they want to ship out thousands of trays and have them returned. And
I'd think it would be hard to argue that the text description trumps the
part number, so they'd be faced with a lot of those returns demanding
a refund of shipping ("I ordered a #13N6805 and they shipped me
something else", says the customer to his credit card company).

As I said, just speculation, but it's the tourniquet they're applying
while they get ready to amputate the orders.
