One **LEGAL** solution to your problem is to get a DVD Jukebox. Your kids
would be able to watch any DVD in the player without having to handle
the DVDs at all. They are available with a capacity of up to 400 disks
for about $1 per disk (cheaper if you shop around or buy used from eBay).
This would solve your problem and eliminate the need to purchase / load /
learn any new software as well as the cost of blank DVD media.

End-user advocates point out that the "Fair Use" provisions of the Copyright Act allow you to make a backup copy just as you are wanting to do, but the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) makes it illegal to circumvent /any/ copy protection technology (such as that found on DVD's) under /any/ circumstances - even to make copies that would otherwise be allowed under law. > >So you won't find any commercially-available software to do what you need. But that's not to say that it can't be done - a Google search for terms like dvd, rip, decrypt, etc, will likely find plenty of leads. Naturally, what you choose to do with that information is your decision and yours alone. ;) > > >Ron DeBaecke wrote: >> Hi all, >> >> Can anyone steer me in the right direction here..
