When I (from Boston) picked up my T23 from a seller in San Jose, I
arranged a friend of mine
to inspect the item, pay the money and collect it personally from the
seller.

100 % fool proof. But then, you need to have somebody at the sellers
location
to go around and do this work.

When you pay a handsome amount for your dream machine, I think the
effort is worth it.
