Although you may not be able to speed individual accesses, you may be able
to speed the computer by reducing accesses. I have 1GB of memory in my
X40s and have set the Virtual Memory to 0 (zero) to avoid swapping. Run
the Task Manager and view the Performance tab to see whether the Peak
Commit Charge value exceeds Total Physical Memory value as an indication
of any past need for swapping since the last cold start.
