I don't know how much that is in real money, but I suspect that it is around
$250. I think you can find an X series in that range, which will give you
much better service.
Or even look at a 570, there are lots of them around, and again they are far
superior to the 240 (which really in my experience is pretty much junk when
compared to other ThinkPads.)

I'm in the market for a ThinkPad 240. Ideally I'd like something a bit
faster than the basic model - i.e. 240x or 240z - 400-500 MHz processor -
but I'm not that fussy. The main consideration is physical quality - lack
of cracks in case, nice clear screen, working catches etc.

I live in the UK but would certainly consider purchasing from overseas -
I've bought from the USA on eBay before.

Have a pricetag around £100-£130 in mind. Not bothered about pre-installed
O/S or software.
