I don't know how much that is in real money, but I suspect that it is around
$250. I think you can find an X series in that range, which will give you
much better service.
Or even look at a 570, there are lots of them around, and again they are far
superior to the 240 (which really in my experience is pretty much junk when
compared to other ThinkPads.)

Subject: [Thinkpad] Anyone have TP 240 for sale?
Hi Everyone
I'm in the market for a ThinkPad 240. Ideally I'd like something a bit
faster than the basic model - i.e. 240x or 240z - 400-500 MHz processor -
but I'm not that fussy. The main consideration is physical quality - lack
of cracks in case, nice clear screen, working catches etc.
I live in the UK but would certainly consider purchasing from overseas -
I've bought from the USA on eBay before.
Have a pricetag around £100-£130 in mind. Not bothered about pre-installed
O/S or software.
My eBay ID is sjwwatson - I mention this as I have a 100% credit rating &
good reports from buyers/sellers. Feel free to check this out.
Happy to discuss outside main mailing list.
Best wishes
Simon Watson
