It happened also on my X60S, but under another condition.
Tried to do some BTooth networking with a Mac while away from home for a
few days.
Suddenly, all LAN/BT and other connection under "Network Connections"
were named LAN1, 2, 3... and so on. I could not even use my UMTS phone
to connect (it had a BT Connection, but the problem was when negotiating
network protocols with the carrier), apparently the DHCP client didn't
work. I tried almost everything... also followed instructions in
Microsoft's KB.
However, as I had used Acronis TrueImage the day before leaving, I saved
the newest files, then restored the image.
