I got this dreaded message this morning. Did some research and read the HMM, it looks like there's not much point in taking the machine apart since it could require a new fan, and there are a lot of steps to get to it (I was hoping if it was usually just a blow-out-the-dust issue, and the steps weren't too onerous, I could take a shot at it).
I did blow air in the exhaust and the PCMCIA slots, and got a lot of dust out. But I still get the FAN ERROR message and the machine shuts down.
Is there _anything_ worth the risk, as opposed to sending it for service? And what's service like in Canada these days, anyway?
Thanks!
