A friend sent this:
Using my Thinkpad 600E. It has started beeping. More
specifically it beeps every sixty two seconds. The "beep" is one high
pitched beep followed by 2 short lower pitched beeps.
I am running on ac power, and it knows that and so indicates. The power
meter indicates the battery is 97% charged, so it doesn't apppear to be a
low battery warning. (I think I may have heard such when I forgot to turn
the power on and the battery ran low in the past, I am not sure.)
Well this morning I turned it off and disconnected the power and it kept
right on beeping every 62 seconds. It had stopped by the time I got back
this afternoon. But re-connecteing the power (not turning it on, just
re-connecting the power!) started it again.
Then I disconnected the power and removed the battery, and it kept right
on beeping!!!!
Any ideas what might be going on and what I might do about it?
