I forgot to mention previously that the problem I described occurs only
with Access Connections. Letting XP's native wireless manager control
the connections, this problem doesn't exist. So I don't think there's
anything wrong with the Cisco driver per se. And this is an issue with
Access Connections on two identical T40 ThinkPads.
