This is old tech, there are many devices now which will let you send A/V
files from your computer to your stereo and/or TV over your home
ethernet connection (wired or wireless). Heck, for under $75 you can
buy a DVD player at your local Circuit City or Best Buy to which you can
attach a USB HD or thumbdrive, and use the DVD remote to play video
files from the HD on your TV, and audio files from the HD on your
stereo.
