[Thinkpad] Accessing the recovery partition on R32

I have an R 32 that I installed linux on for fun but am finding that I need
to get windows back on it for work. I left the recovery partition in place
but cannot seem to access it. Can anyone one help? I have an xp pro disk
that I can just to a clean install with the key on the bottom of the machine
but I would just assume have ibm to all the ibm driver installation and get
back some of the software that was on it.
