[Thinkpad] What I can do about it

Hi,

Here is what happened when my R31 turned on. When I power it on by pressing
the power switch, the fan start to blow air first (judging from the sound),
and the light indicator of the power is on. Then the hard drive is spinning,
again judged from its noise. Then the machine remains this state, having no
further action. Well, the CD-ROM frame can pop out when I press the key and
I noticed LCD panel have a lighter colour (it seems powered up, but I am
just guessing, there is nothing on the dark screen).

Is it surely a dead main board? Could it be a problem of some other part?
