hmm, also from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mbit/s):

Interface and device speeds:
    USB, Low speed (1.0) -- 1.5 Mbit/s -- 0.18 MB/s
    USB, Full speed (1.1) -- 12 Mbit/s -- 1.5 MB/s
    USB, Hi speed (2.0) -- 480 Mbit/s -- 60 MB/s

And the current version of Wikipedia's USB page
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usb):

USB supports three data rates:
    A Low Speed (1.1, 2.0) rate of 1.5 Mbit/s (192 KB/s)
    A Full Speed (1.1, 2.0) rate of 12 Mbit/s (1.5 MB/s)
    A Hi-Speed (2.0) rate of 480 Mbit/s (60 MB/s).
(no mention of USB1)

Does a USB 1 port become a USB 1.1 though a driver update, or does a USB 1
port have different electronics?

I'm just trying to figure out whether the USB on an X20 and R30 will do 12
Mbit/s, or just 1.5 Mbit/s -- and I can't seem to find anything that
documents it!
